Woven Tribe IV
This print, framed in solid wood with a glass frame, is inspired by the mud painting techniques from the Senufo Tribe that live in Ivory Coast of West Africa. The Senufo people would make black paint out of mud and use it to draw onto Korhogo cloth to create wearable blankets. Using contemporary imagery, this art series features different tribal patterns and imagery, printed to look like framed pieces of painted cloth. If you look closely you will notice the intricate details like the stitched edges and shadows.
